Excursion to Guadix and MiniHollywood Oasys Park

The Guadix desert and the Tabernas desert share the same aridity but belong to completely different stories. The first is a geological landscape of millions of years, shaped by erosion in a sedimentary basin that today is part of the Granada Geopark. The second is a natural set that in the sixties attracted Sergio Leone and a generation of filmmakers who found in Almería the Wild West they were looking for. Our excursion traverses both in a single day from Granada.

The day starts in Guadix, where our expert guide introduces the geological reading of the badlands, the reddish earth formations that characterize this region and that reach in the Geopark a scale hard to find in Europe. From there, the route continues by bus to the Tabernas Desert, in the province of Almería, to delve into the Oasys MiniHollywood Park. The original sets of the spaghetti western movies coexist with live duel shows, a zoological reserve, and a pool area.
